Flavor Profile

The Illusione Original Documents Corojo Lancero delivers a highly concentrated and intensely complex flavor journey suited for the seasoned aficionado. Due to the slender ring gauge, the AAA-grade Corojo wrapper takes center stage, driving the medium-to-full-bodied profile. Sharper, lively notes of earthy spice and rich leather immediately engage the palate, swiftly followed by concentrated undertones of sweet black cherries and Dion Giolito’s signature aromatic, olfactory sweetness.

Construction

Considered a true test of a roller's skill, this slim Lancero boasts flawless, masterful construction. It features a beautifully applied cap and a smooth, red-hued wrapper with immaculate seams. The internal draw is expertly calibrated to remain perfectly open without becoming plugged—a common feat for this difficult size. It burns perfectly straight and slowly, showcasing a razor-sharp char line and creating a tight, surprisingly durable ash pillar.

Pairing Suggestion

The slender Illusione Original Documents Corojo Lancero intensifies the wrapper-to-filler ratio, delivering a concentrated blast of white pepper, cedar, and citrus sweet undertones. It pairs flawlessly with an elegant Irish whiskey or a high-quality Blanco tequila that won't overshadow its nuanced sharpness. A traditional espresso or a bright, clean hot black coffee makes for a stunning non-alcoholic option. It goes beautifully alongside light bites, sea-salted almonds, or artisanal lemon tarts.
