Flavor Profile

The Illusione Original Documents Corojo Gordo presents a thick, full-volume smoke that amplifies the complexity of its premium Nicaraguan tobaccos. Harnessing a robust blend of Criollo '98 and Corojo '99 under a AAA-grade wrapper, this medium-to-full-bodied cigar coats the mouth with notes of rich leather and warm, earthy spice. The large ring gauge tames the intensity, allowing the lush sweetness of black cherries and Illusione’s signature aromatic sweetness to bloom beautifully in every puff.

Construction

This large-gauge vitola features an imposing yet immaculate construction that prevents any loose packing. It is enveloped in a robust, oily Colorado Maduro wrapper that is expertly laid over a dense bunch of Nicaraguan tobaccos. The wrapper seams are tight, and the head is flawlessly finished. It delivers a remarkably smooth, expansive draw with massive smoke production, combined with a straight, controlled burn line and a very sturdy, thick ash structure.

Pairing Suggestion

The wide ring gauge of the Illusione Original Documents Corojo Gordo yields a cooler, voluminous smoke filled with pepper, wood, and toasted bread notes. A sweet, full-proof bourbon or a heavily sherried single malt Scotch whisky cuts through and balances the dense smoke beautifully. A rich espresso macchiato or a cold brew coffee pairs perfectly on the non-alcoholic side. This large-format cigar aligns nicely with cured meats, rich dark chocolate fudge, or a steak dinner.
