Construction

The El Embargo is a limited edition 6 x 60 Gordo, meticulously handcrafted to celebrate the brand's 50th anniversary. It features a sophisticated construction using extra-aged Nicaraguan tobaccos that have been kept in reserve for years. The wrapper is a prime, toothy leaf with a deep oily sheen. Despite its large ring gauge, the construction is expertly balanced to ensure a cool smoke and a perfect draw, producing voluminous clouds of smoke and a structurally resilient ash.

Pairing Suggestion

The Cinco Décadas is a luxurious, medium-to-full-bodied blend of aged tobaccos with complex notes of brandy, chocolate, coffee, and nuts (aged in oak barrels). The historical significance of the El Embargo size for the European market makes a sophisticated European pairing apt. A fine Cognac, Armagnac, or vintage red wine is recommended.
