Flavor Profile

The Antaño Gran Reserva Gran Consul is a full-bodied Nicaraguan puro, with the Antaño blend mellowed by extended aging. The flavor profile is rich and powerful, yet balanced by a creamy smoothness. Expect notes of earth, wood, and black pepper, with the aging contributing sweeter, more refined notes of cocoa, leather, and roasted nuts.

Construction

The Gran Consul, a Nicaraguan puro, is noted for its perfect construction, typical of the Joya de Nicaragua Antaño line. It produces heavy smoke and has a great draw, although some shorter vitolas may be tightly drawn initially. The solid rolling is essential for this full-bodied, intense flavor grenade of a cigar.

Pairing Suggestion

The Joya Antaño line is full-bodied and robust, known for its Nicaraguan strength. The Gran Reserva indicates a smoother, more aged experience with notes of earth, leather, and spice. It pairs well with a bold, smoky Scotch or a high-proof Bourbon. A rich, dark coffee will also stand up to its power.
